Three Things Companies Should Remember During Corona
Word of the month is:
"ADJUSTMENT".
The world is in a strange state due to the pandemic and everyone is doing their best to continue living a relatively "normal" life.
I dropped by not to bring you more depressing news but instead, I'm hoping to leave you with something valuable at a time like this.
Just a few tips on making these adjustments to cope with this temporary lifestyle:
1. Check in on your Employees’ Mental Health.
There are two types of people in quarantine: People who are bored out of their minds and people who are stressed and anxious. Regardless which of the two your Employees belong to, it is important to make sure your company find ways to keep calm so Leaders and Decision-makers can make reasonable and logical judgements.
2. Take advantage of this time to meditate.
As a pre-requisite to checking in on mental health, urge your Leaders and Employees to take 15 mins. to find a nice and quiet spot and just meditate.
We've created a Free Meditation Guide for those of who need a little guidance and freedom from anxious thoughts.
3. Lastly, engage with leaders, employees and teams.
Best tool to leverage while companies have their people working remotely is communication.
If you are a leader of an org, president of a club, CEO of your own start up company this is the most crucial time to show your team that you care and that they are valued. Maintain the culture you have established in the office and find ways to keep that culture going.
Employee Engagement is key to making sure they are committed to you and your business.
I happen to own a small health food store and luckily, my employees loved the idea of helping our surrounding community especially during these times.
Putting UNITY in COMMUNITY ❤️
We dropped off gallons of hand sanitizers and some masks to healthcare workers and those who work directly with the homeless and at-risk populations. And Guess what? WE ALL ENJOYED DOING THIS!
Employee engagement happens when your employees share your mission and vision and understand their importance in making it come to life. Nothing is more frustrating to know that opportunities were lost simply because your employees weren’t on board with your vision.
But an important prerequisite - they need to feel cared for in the first place in order to be on board!
That being said, we have resources you can utilize to show that your company cares. Resources such as weekly check-in coaching sessions can create a safe head space teams to feel heard and come to creative solutions for their personal and work lives. This gesture of support can make a huge and lasting impact on years to come.
